Life till the First Revelation
Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was born in Mecca. He was born in the tribe of Quraish. His family was Banu Hashim which was actually branch of Quraish tribe. His Father Abdullah and his Mother Amna, both were from very noble families. Unfortunately, his father passed away before the birth of our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him). When he was just six years old, his mother Amna also passed away while she was returning from Medina. She sent our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) to the desert with her foster mother Halima Sadia for better growth and nurturing. Our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) lived there for five years and learnt pure Arabic and grazed the animal. Once he was playing with his foster brothers and sisters, Hazrat Jibrael came. He opened the heart of our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him), washed and purify it from all of the evil instincts.
After the passing away of his parents, our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) came in the guardianship of his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib and after his death, Hazrat Abu Talib took him along with him. Under the guidance of Abu Talib, our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) first became shepherd and then learned the basics of trading as most of the people of Mecca were involved in trading. He also travelled as a trader towards Syria and Yemen as well.
It was a tradition of Arab that they stop war in some months of the year which was actually a Hajj season. In that season, our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) convinced the people of all the tribes to resolve their issues through dialogue in a peaceful manner. This was much appreciated in the Arab and increased the reputation of our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him).
There was a lady named Khadija, who was from a rich and noble family, heard about the honesty and good behavior of our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him). She asked him to carry his goods for trading. Our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) accepted this offer and visited Syria for trading. There was a slave of Khadija who accompanied the Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) in the travelling. There was better profit made in this trading and the slave of Khadija praised a lot about our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him). She sent a proposal message to him which was accepted.
When the people of Mecca started to rebuild the Ka’ bah, it was our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him) who resolved the issue to place the black stone at its place. There was a chance of fight among different Arab tribes on this issue which was ended by the wisdom of our Holy Prophet Muhamad (Peace be upon him).
At the age of forty, many signs of prophet hood appeared in front of him and he started the preaching of Islam.
