Events after the immigration to Medina
The people of Medina were waiting for our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). When our holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) arrived there, they received him with an open heart and gave him a warm welcome. People of Medina, especially children were so excited to see the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) among them. Everybody was interested to be the host of our holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) but he said that I will stay where my camel will stop. The camel of our holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) stopped near the house of Hazrat Abu Ayub Ansari and he became the first host of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
Where the camel of our holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) stopped, it was a place of two orphan children. Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) purchased it from those children and constructed the holy mosque, Masjid-e-Nabvi, at that place. Masjid-e-Nabvi was not only a mosque but it was (and still is) a spiritual center for the Muslims. It was the place where our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) used to teach the people about Islam.
Now there are two categories of the Muslims in Medina. Those who were already residing there and helped the immigrants to be settled are known as Ansaars while those who migrated there are known as Muhajireen. Our Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) set a new example of brotherhood and made every Muhajir brother of an Ansaar.
A great impact of this brotherhood has been observed as there were two tribes of Medina who were enemies of each other. They also have forgotten enmity against each other and became the brothers in faith.
Another historic event was the charter of Medina which was signed in between the Muslims and the Jews. basically this charter was done to strengthen the power of Muslims and to avoid various fights between different tribes. According to this charter, the Jews also had complete authority to practice their religious activities and their rights were equal to the Muslims. They will be equal citizens of Medina. The Muslims and Jews will be allies of each other. They both will protect the Medina in case of any attack. Through these steps, our holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) established his leadership in Medina.
